I started my business when my son with autism was turning 27, and still had no employment opportunities. He and I were doing projects at home to keep busy when I thought of the lavender growing in the garden. I discovered that he could make lavender sachets and enjoyed doing it. Next, we made an all-natural lavender spray. I approached his day program and they were enthusiastic about making these products. A year and a half later, we are selling our products online, and have begun selling at craft fairs and markets. AABR, the agency that runs Joey’s day program, offered me office space in their headquarters to create an official work place where young men are able to come for an hour or two to work , make money, and enjoy the pride that comes from a job well done.
