Description At Pepplish Provisions, we believe a company has a responsibility to impact the world around it in a positive way. That's why besides making awesome hot sauces, we also use fair trade certified sweeteners in every single one of them. We also source locally from a high school in Queens with an agricultural program that teaches students the science behind farming, and prepares them for careers in agriculture and animal care. The market we cater to is that of people who want their purchase to count for more than just their own satisfaction; we want each sale to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We believe that every purchase is a way for customers to "vote with their wallet," and encourage our business to continue operating in an ethical manner. Thus, we choose to use our business' platform to shape the world around us, hopefully leaving it better than we found it.
Flavors include Peach Agave Garlic, Blackberry Rhubarb Thyme, Cranberry Orange Clove, and Mango Garlic Hickory hot sauces.
Owner's Story It all began in 2009... I came to the realization that all the hot sauces available to me were either ready to melt my face off with very little in the way of flavor, or brimming with flavor but sorely lacking in heat. The question I constantly asked myself was, “Why can’t I have both?” So, I began to experiment with bold flavors while using some of the world’s hottest peppers. Years passed, and the experiments grew into carefully crafted recipes. Soon, folks wanted my sauce! Family and friends were putting it on chicken, burgers, even pancakes. Eventually, my wife suggested that I “sell that stuff!” I later found out that she was not saying “leave your job, start a business, and be on a mission to change lives one bottle at a time!”
This love for hot sauce, and typical marriage miscommunication, gave life to Pepplish.
That’s the simple version, but just like hot sauce, every story has layers. I had no idea what direction to take this business in, and I frequently questioned “why am I even doing this?” But, through soul searching and profound discussions, I decided it was absolutely necessary to integrate my Christian faith with what I will be doing. And it is out of His love I found my “why”: I believe a business has the responsibility to create and empower the community around it.
