Herbal, all-natural soaps made in Queens with Queens ingredients.
Description

Granny Moon soaps are not only made in Astoria, but as many ingredients as possible are purchased, sourced, and grown in the neighborhood making sure as possible goes into our small businesses and union shops. They I also work with local community gardens for ingredients that are grown here, with the owner growing some of the plants herself. All colors and scents are 100% plant or earth derived with nothing manipulated in a lab.

Owner's Story

Megan started her business because her then 3-year old had angry red patches all over his body. Nothing the doctors recommended worked, so She finally made my own soap. He's been patch-free ever since. Megan then dove deep into soap making techniques and herbalism training, applying what she learned to soap formulations. She started a partnership with Queens Botanical Gardens to acquire botanicals from the garden to use them to make soap. Throughout this time, Granny Moon has also been doing monthly markets on the 31st Avenue Open Street with QNS Collab, a group of Astoria creatives, and S.Mall, a market specifically for women and people of color business owners. Throughout these markets Granny Moon has built a bit of a cult following.
